Description:
The story of Jane, a young girl who endured immense hardship and abuse, is set in England during the late 18th to early 19th century. As she copes with the loss of both her parents to typhoid, Jane is forced to live with her cruel aunt at "Gateshead Hall," at the request of her dying uncle. Despite the fact that Jane is emotionally and physically abused by her family, she perseveres. Soon after, Jane is sent to Lowood School, a boarding school for girls. Throughout her journey, Jane faces many trials and tribulations that test her resilience and strength.
